Julia attends a ballet/tap class at the Carroll County Dance Center. They hosted an open house for the parents this week. Dave, Nolan and I got to watch Julia's class do their normal routine. Julia really enjoys the interpretive dance portion of the show. As Ms. Leslie notes in her report card, "her made up dances are elegant and graceful." I can tell she is really enjoying herself. I will make a bigger effort to cover her underwear with the leotard next time. She won't care now, but I'm sure teenage Julia might care.
Julia picks out what she wants to wear to school. Lately, she wants to wear a dress...even if it's 30 degrees outside. Here is a pic of today's outfit. Stylish!
Julia and I really enjoyed the Nutcracker Tea at the Carroll County Dance Center. It was snowing pretty heavily that weekend. We wouldn't have made it there if it weren't for Miss Debbie and her 4WD minivan. Thanks again for the ride, Debbie! Luci and Julia took the camera for part of the tea. They got a lot of great shots of the cookies! Hopefully, all of our friends will be able to make it next year. We missed Miss Stacie, Abby and Bobby.
Julia had some mild sedation today while getting fillings at the dentist. Everything went well and Julia was a brave girl. We played at the office while the meds were kicking in. Pengin the Penguin and Wheezy played on the slide with her. We got some milkshakes after the procedure and now we are eating cookies in bed while watching movies. Yes, we will brush our teeth when we are done;) I'm enjoying the day with my little girl.
Julia saw me using my sewing machine this weekend and wanted to do her own project. I let her choose some fabric and she decided she wanted to make Barbie a dress. I knew she wouldn't have patience for a pattern yet, so all we did was sew a section along one side and slipped it on Barbie as a skirt. We cut a hair bow and made a blanket out of matching fabric. She was very excited and told me she wanted her own machine when she grows up. She told me it will be pink. I think that sounds like fun!
My little girl baked a birthday cake for Mommy. They added candy bumble bees as a shout out to Bumble. She also gave me a card with a farting unicorn on it. She was super excited about that. I'm so lucky! As you can see, Julia has been practicing the letter J.
We entered Julia in the 2013 Hub Halloween costume contest. Martha Stewart will judge the homemade costumes. If she isn't blown away by the cowgirl costume, she will certainly appreciate Julia's modeling skills. Great Grandma Jean did a great job making the costume.
I'm taking a note from Disney and releasing some older Julia videos from the vault, aka "mommy's p-pad." These videos were recorded before I started Julia's blog. We loved going through them. Hope you enjoy too!
Julia shares my love of organization. She lined up her ViewMaster princess slides and placed the corresponding princess on each slide. Excellent job, Julia!
